Privacy statement and Data Protection

I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) which means I need to tell you what data I am collecting from you and what I intend to do with it.

What data do I keep and why do I need it?

Name and age - this is basic information that helps me get to know you.
Postal address, email address and phone number - I use this as a means of contacting you regarding sessions. I will mainly use the method you first contact me with, if I cannot reach you I will try a different method.
I will keep a record of payments via Invoicing shared with you containing your name e.mail address and dates of sessions booked in accordance with HMRC record keeping.

Will I share your data and if I do who will I share it with and for what purpose?

It is very unlikely I will share your data. I will not sell your data or use it for unethical reasons. However I may have to share data in the event that:

My attendance notes of our work together are subpoenaed in court.
You or anyone else has come to harm or is at risk of harm in which case I would need to pass this information the police. If possible I would inform you of this before doing so.
In the unfortunate event I was no longer able to work with you or contact you, I have appointed a clinical executer who will have access to your data in the event to get in contact and inform you.

How will I store your data?

The data you give in this agreement is stored digitally in a password protected file.
I transfer your name and an unique code with your email address and phone number to both my password protected laptop and smartphone.

How long will I store your data and how will I dispose of it?

I’ll keep your session attendance notes with your name and your unique code for 5 years which is the time recommended by my insurance company.
I’ll delete and cross shred this document with your personal information 3 months after our work together finishes.
I’ll delete your email and phone number from my laptop and phone 3 months after our work together finishes.
All Invoice records will be kept on password protected software, on my laptop and phone for a period of 5 years in accordance with HMRC records keeping, after which time they shall be deleted.
